Job Description
Serves as a simulation Instructor Controller (I/C) within the Simulation Operations and Training Section (SOTS) providing the primary capability for the conceptualization, development, and execution of computer-assisted joint exercises and rehearsals. Position is for an I/C with strong joint background for the Simulation Operation and Training Section (SOTS) under the Forces Branch of the Joint Staff/J7. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities SME- responsibilities include being a SME on ground maneuver forces and simulations that will be utilized for JS J7 supported training events. Those include the Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation (JCATS), Joint Semi Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Theater Level Simulation (JTLS), Joint Low Overhead Driver (JLOD), and Low Overhead Training System (LOTS); responsible for supporting the training audiences’ training objectives at all exercise events by being knowledgeable in all areas of the exercise control group operations, to include the event scenario, the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL), the Area of Responsibility, and the role and responsibilities of component response cells. Duties- Include platform instruction in the primary simulations, maintaining proficiency in joint and service doctrine, and maintaining certification in specified models and simulations. Response Cell Lead- Assists with the Scenario/Road-to-War, Master Scenario Events List development and management, and unit database development. During exercise events, conducts workstation controller tasks to include instructing gamer augmentees, facilitating exercise response cell supervisor, and assisting the Scenario Manager and JECG Director. As an additional duty, must be capable of supporting simulation development efforts as simulation new version tester, simulation Senior Control, and as Deputy Test Director supporting the JS/J7 Modeling and Simulation Officer.1
