Overview

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Financial Analysis track and monitor expenditures, comparing actuals against plans, and alter the Government to deviations and trends. They assess financial and programmatic risks and the financial condition of JT&E projects and make recommendations to the Government in support of organizational decision-making. They use automated tools to support financial processes; conduct queries of databases and compiling, organizing and synthesizing information. They review financial files for destruction or retention according to DoD Regulations. They Support financial reconciliation and close-out processes. This includes:

    Reviewing data sets periodically to verify accuracy of information, comparing and reconciling balances to ensure reliability of financial records.
  • Reviewing, verifying, and adjusting account balances, ensuring all costs are settled to reflect an accurate and complete financial record at the end of an accounting period.
  • Apply the basic principles of Government financial management.
  • Experience with the DOD Financial Management Regulation (FMR), Joint Travel Regulations, DOD Foreign Clearance Guide, Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), military funding documents (MIPRs, PR&Cs), Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Managing and tracking Government and civilian travel
  • Executes military interdepartmental purchase requests (MIPR), contractual purchase request (PR&C)
  • Processes Government equipment purchases request.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ten years of experience in financial planning/analysis.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Strong analytical capabilities for quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize business needs and issues.
  • Follow-up, follow-through, and project management skill required.
  • Demonstrated strong time management, planning and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to interface with all levels within an organization.
  • Must be skilled in developing positive customer relations skills.

Essential functions require light to moderate physical exertion in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 50 pounds with occasional lifting over 50 pounds with assistance. The position requires long periods of standing, stooping, climbing and working in areas of operating equipment. Work shall be performed throughout the buildings and some outside work may be required.
