Overview

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Logistician shall track and document all property procured and managed by the JT&E Program. This may include: storing, distributing, managing, disposing of, and accounting for Government property in accordance with current DOD regulations, Government policies, and DOT&E and JT&E Directives. The Logistician shall provide facility support services. This includes, but is not limited to, arranging for maintenance to make necessary facility repairs with Government coordination.

Examples of typical maintenance and repair actions to coordinate with lessor and or service provider includes fire alarm systems, security monitoring systems, locks, physical, and logical security controls, and building utility systems.

The Logistician shall coordinate, organize, and handle logistics and conference room set up in support of events at the JT&E Suffolk location.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Possess a Secret Security Clearance.
  • Three-Ten (3-10) years of experience in property managment and logistics

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Demonstrated Proficiency in the MS Office suite.
  • Ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize business needs and issues.
  • Follow-up, follow-through, and project management skill required.
  • Extensive knowledge of federal and state safety regulations.
  • Demonstrated strong time management, planning and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to interface with all levels within an organization.
  • Must be skilled in developing positive customer relations skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Essential functions require light to moderate physical exertion in lifting and carrying items weighing from 10 to 50 pounds with occasional lifting over 50 pounds with assistance. The position requires long periods of standing, stooping, climbing and working in areas of operating equipment. Work shall be performed throughout the buildings and some outside work may be required.

This position is subjected to high level noises, fumes from solvents and soil from grease.
