Laboratory Technician
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is hiring for an experienced Laboratory Technician to provide Laboratory and Material support for the overall improvement of Navy systems. This position will be based in Virginia Beach, VA.
Job Description:
  • Perform independent analysis on obsolete and emerging hardware that assesses the impact of those scenarios on current systems.
  • Provide acquisition recommendations based on independent analyses.
  • Support the planning, designing, implementation, and integration of systems hardware components.
  • Perform drawing reviews for completeness and accuracy.
  • Evaluates components, assemblies, and test equipment with Quality Assurance (QA) tools to ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Provide logistical oversight of material receipt, inspection, and shipping.
  • Assist with the configuration and testing of system equipment.
  • Provide status, inventory, and shipment reports weekly.
  • Perform configuration management (CM) duties for various Technical Data Packages (TDPs).
  • Provide design modifications based on Commercial Off the Shelf (COTs) components for obsolete parts and for modernization initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Must have experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Project and Excel).
  • Must have 3+ years of experience with naval systems and/or SSDS.
Desired Requirements
  • Experience in laboratory management, preferred.
  • An engineering degree from an ABET accredited school, preferred.
  • CANES system design experience, preferred.
Security Requirements:
  • Must have an Active DoD Secret Security clearance and meet base access requirements.
Travel Requirements:
  • Less than 10%
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to work in an office, industrial, or shipboard environment.
  • Be able to lift and move materials not to exceed the guidelines set for one-man lift.
  • Must be able to perform site surveys and carry a laptop computer.
