A research assistant position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Petra Popovics in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Cell Biology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. The successful candidate will assist projects exploring transcriptome/proteome/lipidome of the prostate in mouse models of inflammation and hyperplasia as well as in human specimens and will perform chemical, biological, molecular biological, surgical or other laboratory tests and procedures in support of these projects. Highly motivated, hard-working, and technically skilled applicants with relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor's degree in biological science or related field. Prior experience with mouse handling and experimental procedures is highly preferred. Prior experience at least in some of the following techniques is required: tissue culture, western blotting, PCR, immunohistochemistry, imaging and immunoassays.
