Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


  • Technical support for the manufacturing and production team to include developing process documentation, reviewing drawings, and offering help with technical issues
  • Support the machine shop with programming and general machining principles
  • With guidance as necessary, make independent decisions and conduct troubleshooting on routine engineering problems
  • With guidance as necessary, perform basic engineering designs, necessary calculations, planning and research for assigned projects
  • Develop fabrication, alteration, and assembly designs to meet project requirements
  • Develop, simulate, and analyze design solutions utilizing 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools
  • Apply general engineering disciplines to develop innovative designs and apply production planning and manufacturing documents
  • Review customer specs and requirements
  • Review and evaluate technical documentation and coordinate with government and contractor agencies to accomplish program/project objectives
  • Be a key team member on a wide variety of mechanical design and manufacturing projects
  • Coordinate and participate in activities such as systems modification installation, interface testing, systems operational performance verification, troubleshooting and evaluation of technical issues, and generating technical reports and presentations.
  • Other areas this position will be expected to contribute to are cost saving activities, developing/maintaining BOM's, Production efficiency, Lean manufacturing concepts

Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from an accredited education institution
  • 3-5 years hands on experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Strong work ethic is a must
  • Willingness to take necessary training or educational classes to gain knowledge in required areas
  • Experience with CNC machining and programming is preferred
  • Familiar with 3D CAD modeling and drafting software (Inventor preferred)
  • Proficient with MS Office
  • Familiar with ERP/MRP software
  • Experience with electrical circuits, ICDs, power or signal design is a plus
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance is required
  • Good Communication and writing skills
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • US citizenship
