Job Description

This position requires an active Public Trust clearance.

An administrative assistant supports daily office operations by managing correspondence, scheduling, organizing meetings, and providing general administrative assistance.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Administrative Assistant: $50,000/yr

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Administrative Assistant Responsibilities Include:

  • Manages the overall support and performance of clerical and administrative work in support of the squadron.
  • Develop and update office procedures and records/files of various types to ensure effective and efficient operation of the office.
  • Provides advice and guidance to staff in the organization on administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements and follows up to ensure compliance. Updates tracker or suspense files for unclassified documents as required.
  • Assist the Front Office in the administration of various support programs/functions
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all newly assigned personnel
  • Draft meeting minutes, prepare of PowerPoint slides/Excel Spreadsheets/Word Documents
  • Maintain electronic files, SharePoint file updates, scheduling of meetings, conference room management, calendar/schedule management, and answer phones.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Administrative Assistant Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • High school diploma/GED equivalent and 3 years of experience in related field or associate degree from accredited institution with a minimum of one (1) year of experience.
  • Independently carries out successive steps and handles problems and deviations in work assignments in accordance with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices.
  • Working knowledge of administrative practices is required.
  • Familiarity or experience with MILPDS and MyFSS will be beneficial in supporting these type program requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Effectively communicate with various level of leadership, both orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, and format to accurately prepare and edit written correspondence and reports.
  • Ability to coordinate with mission partners with a high degree of tact and diplomacy.
  • United States citizen with a clear background for government security investigation with the ability to obtain a Clearance or Common Access Card (CAC)
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
