Job Description

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in San Diego, CA.

Job Details:

    80 hours per pay period
  • Any state license accepted
  • Medical, dental, vision & 401K
  • 11 paid Federal Holiday
  • Pay Range= $40-$55/hr

Job Requirements: Ind.Nurse

  • Degree: Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Minimum of one year of experience in labor & delivery, maternal child, or perinatal special care, obtained after graduation.
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse as required.
  • Certifications: Must possess and maintain certification in Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) and Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring.
  • Additional Skills: Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and general data entry functions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate patient care in collaboration with various healthcare professionals to ensure optimal clinical care, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Comply with established care and practice standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Perform physical exams and health histories.
  • Provide health promotions, counseling, and education.
  • Administer medications, wound care, and various other personalized interventions.
  • May provide clinical direction or assist in the instruction of care provided by other healthcare professionals, but may not serve as Charge Nurse on a unit/ward.
  • Provide clinical direction for making patient care assignments based on the scope of practice and skill levels of assigned personnel.
  • Recognize adverse signs and symptoms and respond quickly in emergency situations.
  • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
