The Team:

The Development Program Management team manages all product development activities from initial design concept through production. Fisher-Price has a longstanding history in East Aurora, New York where it was founded in 1930. Development Program Management is a critical aspect of the product development team responsible for bringing joy to children for over 90 years!


The Opportunity:

Fisher-Price is looking for a Senior Development Program Management Associate to join our FP Wood product development team at our campus in East Aurora, New York. You will help manage projects in collaboration with a worldwide, cross-functional team consisting of representatives from Design, Development, Marketing, Manufacturing and others throughout the product design and development process. This role reports directly to the Senior Manager of Development Program Management.

What Your Impact Will Be:

  • Managing multiple projects of varying product types and complexities while maintaining schedule targets.
  • Working closely with overseas development, tooling, and manufacturing to ensure successful project completion.
  • Troubleshoot production level samples and make suggestions to fix defects, improve mechanisms, and guarantee end-consumer satisfaction.
  • Develop, maintain and drive schedule execution of worldwide products.
  • Act as liaison between East Aurora teams, and overseas locations throughout the product life cycle.
  • Reviewing concept sketches and provide support for products in the preliminary design phase.
  • Working with external and internal development sources to engineer the product.
  • Working in a team environment with Design, Packaging, Quality, Marketing, Planning, Cost Engineering, Model Shop, Electrical Engineering, Materials Lab, Sculpting, Manufacturing Plants, and offshore development sources.
  • Develop preliminary cost estimates and provide cost/financial analyses for different types of products.
  • Analyze product design to affect maximum utilization of materials, methods and processes in order to meet cost objectives and quality specifications by utilizing knowledge of product design and budgetary considerations.
  • Guide cross-functional teams into optimizing the content and features of products
  • Responsible for planning, organizing, managing product development team meetings.

What We're Looking For:

  • BA/BS (Engineering preferred but not required)
  • 5-7 yrs of relevant Project Management experience.
  • Experience with wooden toys or wooden consumer products, including keen understanding of wood materials and processing, is preferred.
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple projects, make quick decisions and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Must be comfortable leading a cross-functional team so project management experience, preferably in consumer products, is preferred.
  • Excellent organization skills are a must.
  • Must be comfortable with systems and data entry and management.
  • Relationship-building skills and good customer-facing skills a must.
  • Demonstrated agrowth mindset by staying curious and continuously learning, embracing challenges, and improving themselves.

The annual base salary range for this position is between $78,400 and $98,000.
**This range is indicative of projected hiring range, however annual base salary will be determined based on a candidate's work location, skills and experience.
