Test Engineer

The Opportunity:

When a user tries new software, they expect it to be intuitive and run smoothly. That's why we need an experienced test engineer like you who knows how to thoroughly test software and work with developers to make sure our team releases the best software possible.

As a test engineer on our team, you'll lead small groups within multi-disciplinary teams to apply test engineering practices to support the development and acquisition of warfighting systems in various stages of development and acquisition for the Marine Corps. You'll support technical and engineering tasks on behalf of various Marine Corps program offices, including the requirements and verification traceability matrices (RVTM), test planning, mission profile development, test monitoring, test execution, and test results interpretation. You'll work with USMC program offices across the spectrum of testing activities, including developmental, operational, live-fire, reliability, and suitability and human factors testing. You'll develop Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP) in coordination with USMC Program Offices, and lead and support the execution of the Test and Evaluation (T&E) Integrated Product Team (IPT) in the creation of the initial T&E Strategy and T&E Master Plan (TEMP), integrating all the details of this refinement effort. You'll provide T&E of hardware and software development, including developing and documenting test plans and procedures, conducting testing, and evaluating and documenting results.You'll conduct analysis to enhance T&E activities, including the review, evaluation, and development of recommendations on T&E strategies, T&E Master Plans, critical operational issues, critical technical parameters, concepts of employment, concepts of operations, operational mode summaries, test plans, test reports, test ideas, and test event issues.

You Have:

  • 5+ years of experience with DoD acquisition activities on major defense acquisition programs
  • Experience with DoD T&E topics, including test planning, test management, test result interpretation, developmental testing, operational testing, and live fire testing
  • Experience working with proving grounds and test facilities, and with test planning, execution, and reporting
  • Knowledge of applying the logical progression from requirements to measures of suitability and measures of effectiveness
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Science, or Technology

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with TEMP development
  • Experience with Cyber testing, including Cyber Table-Top wargames, cooperative vulnerability testing, and adversarial testing
  • Knowledge of key DoD regulatory rules and policies, the DoD Acquisition process, including regulations, directives, and statutes, and the USMC application of the DoD Acquisition process
  • Knowledge of USMC, Navy, or DoD test engineering and systems engineering life cycle activities
  • Knowledge of Force Design
  • Master's degree in an Engineering, Physics, or Science field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
