Job Description

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design, develop, and document comprehensive digital board level hardware design from concept through to production.
  • Coordinate and participate in hardware product development activities.
  • Support schematic capture, netlist generation, partlist generation and circuit board layout.
  • Perform lab testing and troubleshooting as needed.
  • Attend and participate in system-level design meetings in order to address design issues early in the product development process.
  • Provide training and support as required to operations staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education: BS in Electrical Engineering or closely related field from an accredited University/College MS Electrical Engineering preferred

Experience: This is a hardware engineering position and requires course work or related work experience in the following areas:

  • Experience in high speed digital design (embedded processor, DDR, PCIe, Gigabit ethernet, USB, FPGA)
  • Experience in switching Power Supply design (DC/DC converters)
  • Experience with schematic capture software (ORCAD/DXD)
  • Knowledge of signal integrity and EMI/EMC issues - experience with signal integrity software (Hyperlynx)
  • Experience in the use of test equipment (DSO, Logic Analyzer, FRA, etc.)
  • Experience in CPLD design and the associated tools
  • Experience in hybrid RF/Digital PCB board layout
  • Basic software development experience using C and/or Linux (scripting)
  • Familiarity with electronics manufacturing process
  • Familiarity with IP Networking protocols and standards
  • Experience developing and maintaining comprehensive test plans
  • Experience with Stage Gate development methodologies
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
