| Duties: |
Develop and lead Remote Sensing projects for classified and unclassified customer programs. Develop and review technical specifications related to customer sensor system requirements definitions/specifications. Proactively work with department management in new business development activities. Lead team efforts, plan activities in conjunction with senior technical staff, and mentor junior staff to develop effective interdisciplinary remote sensing teams. Assist in staff recruiting efforts within the Advanced Sensor Engineering Department. Duties will include documentation of work, as well as presentations before customer senior leadership, Aerospace management, and colleagues. |
| Qualifications: |
A Masters or Doctoral degree in Remote Sensing, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline is required. A very strong understanding of National multi-INT systems, coupled with very effective customer communications skills. Coursework and experience in sensor systems capabilities, weather/climate modeling, image processing, signal processing and data fusion. Experience (12 years) with end-to-end remote sensing systems or architectures is highly desirable, particularly collection systems and ground processing. Requires a high degree of independent effort, in addition to management interface and interaction with government customers. The ability to respond quickly and effectively to new initiatives is critical, as are excellent verbal and writing communications skills. Excellent computer proficiency, including familiarity with scientific/engineering programming languages. Current Top Secret/SSBI, or the ability to obtain one, is required. |
